Spring is in the air.
Well almost anyways. It will be here before we know it. Today we are trying to add a little sunshine and fun to this rainy yucky day were having in Kentucky. Crafting with my toddlers is one of my favorite things to do. I love watching their little minds get creative with all the colors.
I often hear people complain about not wanting to craft with toddlers because they are so messy, but mommas don’t let that stop you! Just lay down a cheap tablecloth and go to town, it will entertain them for a while and the days are long but the years are so short!
I wish I’d have done more crafts and projects with my bigger kids but I didn’t take the time. I so regret that now.
Crafting also doesn’t have to cost a ton of money. You can usually whip up a craft really quick with things you already have at home! Like today I had all the things we need for this spring toddler craft already in my craft closet.
I like to find a book to read about an animal or project or just anything and then we will do a craft relating to the book. That makes it a little more fun! Sometimes we will even take a trip to our local library read a book, then come home and do the craft. Just something different to break up the everyday typical routine.
For this spring toddler craft, you will need
White paper plate
*Optional googly eyes
First, you will want to cut out the inside circle of your paper plate, then cut the outside rim in half. Now you have 2 Caterpillar shapes.
Let your little one paint the caterpillar body the color of their choice.
Now cut out a circle for the head of your caterpillar and the 2 little antennae.
Let your toddler glue on the head, antennae, and eyes. or color in the eyes and mouth if you don’t have googly eyes.
So there you have it a fun, simple, cheap craft to do with your little ones. I hope you enjoyed.
