Chili is one of my all time favorite meals. Especially in the fall and winter months. It’s also super simple to make and really filling. Plus you can make a huge pot for really cheap. So it’s the perfect meal when on a tight budget!
If you have followed me for long you know I’m not a huge fan of cooking, and I’m not great at it either. I mean no ones gotten sick yet and my family hardly complains.
So why the heck do I share so many recipes?
Because while it’s not my favorite thing to do I still have to feed my family everyday and on a low food budget.
For a long time I relentlessly searched Pinterest for “cheap family meals”. While it came up with thousands of options I felt like the meals were not realistic meals our family would eat. Or you’d need tons of fancy spices and ingredients I wouldn’t typically use.
I always left feeling frustrated. Or id actually still attempt some of the meals and it would not get eaten. Then id really get frustrated. Maybe we are just picky eaters? I don’t know either way I wasn’t having any luck. So when I started this little blog I knew I wanted to have one area just for budget friendly meals. So just maybe I could help 1 other frustrated mama out there.
Most of the recipes I share are very simple meals. Most are recipes we have found in cookbooks or gotten from family members and have tweaked them to be BUDGET FRIENDLY. I strive to keep each meal as close to $10 as possible for our family of 7.
