BBQ Pulled Pork in the Pressure Cooker
The power pressure cooker has quickly became my favorite way to cook in the kitchen. It’s so easy to use and it cooks everything super fast. If you have never used a pressure cooker you are missing out big time!
I have made BBQ Pulled Pork many times in my crock pot with this exact recipe. It’s one of our family favorites. But it takes hours to fully cook in a crock pot. That can be inconvenient for working moms who aren’t home during the day. Or moms like me who often forget to throw it in the crock pot in the mornings. With a pressure cooker you can throw everything in and have ready in 1 hour! And my crock pot BBQ is nothing compared to the flavor my BBQ Pulled Pork has when I make it in the pressure cooker. The pressure cooker just locks in all those yummy flavors.
Now I seriously use my pressure cooker 6 of the 7 nights a week! I’ve had my pressure cooker for a year now and I’m still always learning new things you can use it for.
Here is the exact Power Pressure Cooker I have in case you don’t have one and would like to try one out. trust me you will not regret it.
BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe
- 3 lb Pork shoulder butt roast
- 1 bottle BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup Chicken broth or water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
Add your chicken broth (or water) and ONLY 1/2 cup BBQ sauce to your pressure cooker. You will use the rest of the BBQ sauce later.
Season your pork roast with salt and pepper then place in your pressure cooker.
Seal lid. Close your release value. Cook on HIGH for 50 minutes.
When timer goes off do a natural release for 15 minutes (a natural release means keep your valve closed).
Remove pork from pressure cooker and shred with 2 forks. Add the rest of your BBQ sauce and serve.
